Rare Novelty Composition, Cute, lovable Storybook and Princess Anna dolls in their original costumes. 11 1/2' Novelty Composition dolls are excellently crafted, with movable head, arms and legs and are of painted, molded-composite construction. They have excellent wigs, full undergarments, socks and leather shoes. These were likely produced from the mid 20's to mid 30's most show no crazing and have no apparent wear. for the most part, these Dream World Dolls are in excellent condition. 5 1/2" painted bisque Storybooks were made by Nancy Ann Abbott and A. L. Rowland of Storybook Doll Co. of California between 1936 and 1947. After 1942 they were produced with solid (unjointed except arms) bodies. Only two of these have wrist-bands. These are all in excellent condition. Nancy Ann Dolls are now back in production after a 30 year hiatus, and their website is at: NancyAnnDolls.com! The Princess Anna Dolls (PAD Co.) were made in the 20's and 30's by this Paris-New York manufacturer. All feature detailed original display characters or regional costumes, some which have aged over the years -probably from displaying. They are of painted bisque construction, with no noticeable crazing. A few bear wrist tags, reproduced below. All of these dolls have painted eyes.
